Food Assistance
Thornton Township's Food Assistance Program distributes over 1,000 food boxes weekly and provides nearly 50,000 meals annually to residents across the south suburbs.
About the Program
Thornton Township’s Food Assistance Program is one of the most impactful programs we offer. Operating out of our Harvey location, the program provides nutritious, well-stocked food boxes to individuals and families experiencing food insecurity across our 17 south suburban municipalities.
The program is open to all residents of Thornton Township’s service area regardless of income documentation. Curbside pickup is available for seniors and individuals with mobility challenges. Our dedicated staff and volunteers work tirelessly to ensure that no neighbor goes without food.
